Ukraine attacks warehouses in Moscow region

On the night of August 16, Ukrainian drones launched a large-scale attack on Moscow, Moscow and Rostov regions, resulting in casualties and injuries.

According to the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, the region has suffered the most serious blow in recent times. During the night, air defense forces shot down a total of 187 drones in Domodedovo, Podolsk, Stupino, Odintsovo, Naro-Fominsk, Ramensk, Chekhov, Kolomna, Kashira and Yegoryevsk.

An 83-year-old man died when one of the drones crashed into a private house in the Ramensk municipal district. Three people were injured in Podolsk. Three more people were also injured in Klimovsk, at the Lesnoy horticultural farm (which district was not specified) and in the Zheleznodorozhny settlement.

A drone strike in Podolsk has destroyed a Wildberries warehouse in the Koledino industrial zone. According to the regional governor, no one was injured, as employees were evacuated to shelters before the strike. Telegram channels posted videos showing a massive fire and thick smoke rising into the sky in the warehouse area.

The company's press service confirmed the fire at a logistics facility in Podolsk and reported that evacuation operations were underway. No new shipments are currently being delivered or taken out of the facility - logistics chains have been reorganized.

The warehouse in the Koledino industrial zone (250,000 square meters) is one of Wildberries' 10 largest logistics centers, and has become the seventh largest warehouse to be damaged by Ukrainian strikes. Now only 20 percent of the company's large warehouses are operational.

In Domodedovo, a medicine warehouse caught fire as a result of the attack, Vorobyov reported. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties. The head of the district, Yevgenia Khrustaleva, noted that the fire was contained and covered an area of 56,000 square meters. In addition, the new building of the police department in Kashira was damaged, and some structures of an industrial facility in Voskresensk.

Since the evening of August 15, 600 drones have been launched towards Moscow, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. According to him, 201 drones were destroyed in the Moscow region. As a result of the attacks, three people were injured in the area of the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD). Sobyanin's report did not provide details on how this happened.

In addition, Ukrainian armed forces also attacked the Rostov region. The regional governor, Yuri Slyusar, said five people were killed and one was hospitalized with injuries. He said air defense forces had destroyed more than 150 drones and missiles in three cities and nine districts.

The Russian Defense Ministry said overnight that air defense forces had destroyed 822 Ukrainian drones in the skies over 16 regions and annexed Crimea. The military statement did not mention the missile attack.
