Drone attack on Ozon logistics center in Krasnodar
The Ozon logistics center in Krasnodar, Russia, was attacked by drones, causing a large fire at the facility. The company said employees were evacuated and the warehouse was closed. According to local authorities, the drone attack also caused damage in other parts of the city, killing two children and injuring nine others.
On the night of August 24, Krasnodar was attacked by drones, resulting in a major fire at the Ozon logistics center.
According to the Ozon company, all employees in the warehouse were evacuated. According to preliminary information, no one was injured in the logistics center itself. Emergency services are working at the scene, and the warehouse has been temporarily suspended.
The company announced that due to the fire, it will be temporarily impossible to place online orders for goods stored at this center. For security reasons, the acceptance of new goods from sellers has also been suspended. It was also announced that logistics routes to this warehouse have been canceled, and other company facilities will be used to redistribute cargo.
According to the head of Krasnodar, Yevgeny Naumov, during the repelling of drone attacks, fragments of drones fell on several locations in the Prikubansky district. According to Naumov, two children were killed in the incident, and nine others - two adults and seven children - were injured. They were taken to medical facilities. According to a local official, fragments of the drone also fell into a private children's center.
Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratev reported that fragments of the drone fell into residential buildings and apartment buildings under construction.
A fire was also reported that night at another large logistics center of Ozon, located in the city of Nevinnomisk, Stavropol Territory.
According to an analysis of open sources by ASTRA, the area of the attacked facility is more than 93.5 thousand square meters. The center is designed to store and sort food and other products, consolidate orders and send them to customers.
Stavropol Territory Governor Vladimir Vladimirov said air defense forces attempted to repel a drone attack aimed at the Nevinnomisk industrial area.
