Compliance services in Uzbekistan will receive the right to directly forward materials to law enforcement agencies
In Uzbekistan, a model regulation has been approved governing the work of internal control units and compliance services in state bodies and companies with state participation. These units are responsible for compliance with anti-corruption requirements and identifying corruption risks within organizations.
The document outlines the procedure for their activities, key tasks, rights, and duties. Heads and employees of such units will be appointed based on the results of an open and transparent competition.
A separate electronic platform will be created for compliance services. It will maintain a registry of employees, publish reports on anti-corruption efforts, and conduct anonymous surveys. Their results will be made available to the public.
If signs of a corruption offense by the head of a state body or organization are identified, the unit will be able, in coordination with the Compliance Service of the Presidential Administration, to directly forward the materials to law enforcement agencies.
In addition, compliance services will be able to propose temporarily restricting the head's authority in personnel and financial matters or suspending them from their duties.
Employees of internal control units are guaranteed state protection, including legal and social protection.
