Competition Committee: One-Third of the Country's Flour Millers Violate Rules

The Competition Development Committee has conducted a large-scale inventory of flour milling enterprises. Experts inspected companies that purchase wheat at exchange auctions.

During the raids, specialists assessed production capacities, warehouses, as well as the availability of quality certificates and sanitary documents.

In total, 301 enterprises were inspected. Non-compliance with basic requirements was detected in 127 of them:

• 42 mills lacked certificates of conformity;

• 8 production facilities operated without sanitary conclusions;

• 49 entities do not have their own capacities and process raw materials under tolling arrangements;

• another 28 enterprises have actually closed or are temporarily idle.

The Committee has sent proposals to the relevant authorities to strengthen state control and regulation of the grain market.
