Classes in Tashkent universities to start at 8 a.m. from the new academic year
According to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, classes in the first shift in higher education institutions in Tashkent will start at 8:00 a.m.
This procedure is being introduced in order to effectively organize the flow of traffic in the capital, reduce the load on the roads during morning and evening rush hours, as well as to make the educational process more optimal. In particular, the earlier start of classes will serve to rationally plan the travel time of students and professors, effectively organize the educational process throughout the day, and optimize the flow of vehicles in the city.
In addition, this procedure will help students studying in day and evening forms of education to properly plan the academic day, expand time for classes and other educational activities.
In preparation for the new academic year, heads of higher education institutions in Tashkent, professors, teachers and students were asked to take this procedure into account.
Appropriate measures will be taken to start classes at the appointed time in educational institutions, properly organize the educational process and provide the necessary conditions for students.
In the new academic year, classes for 1st-year students of higher education institutions will begin on September 7, and for students of 2nd-year and higher studies - on September 14.
We would like to remind you that a few days ago, the Tashkent city administration proposed to set the working hours of city and district administrations, city departments and their subordinate departments from 8:00 to 17:00.
