China and Uzbekistan expand AI training for educators
The first course on AI applications for Uzbek teachers, organized by universities in China and Uzbekistan, concluded in Guangzhou.
China and Uzbekistan are deepening cooperation in training teachers in artificial intelligence.
The first phase of an educational program on the application of artificial intelligence for Uzbek teachers has successfully concluded in Guangzhou. This initiative is the result of joint efforts between the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and New Uzbekistan University. According to China Daily, the week-long course, which concluded on August 21, brought together more than 50 primary and secondary school teachers.
During the training, participants explored the potential of artificial intelligence for its integration into the educational process, research and methodological work, and school management. The primary focus was on the systematic development of practical AI tools applicable to teachers' daily work.
The first phase of the program was targeted at primary and secondary school teachers. A second phase is planned for university faculty.
The program is based on a course on developing artificial intelligence competencies, developed by a team of professors led by Professor Chen Lei, Dean of the Information Hub. The course content was adapted for Uzbek teachers, taking into account the specifics of teaching in primary and secondary schools.
This program is one of the concrete results of cooperation between educational institutions in China and Uzbekistan. The first initiatives were implemented following the visit of Lionel Ni, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), to New Uzbekistan University and the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two universities.
Cooperation is actively developing in areas such as student exchange, training of highly qualified personnel, and strategic consultations.
The course for Uzbek teachers marked another step in the development of collaboration between the two universities in the field of education and professional development in artificial intelligence.
