**Chess Olympiad. Uzbekistan defeats Turkey, Sindarov draws**

On September 19, the fourth-round matches of the 46th World Chess Olympiad took place in Samarkand. Uzbekistan's number one men's team defeated Turkey, recording its fourth consecutive team victory. "Uzbekistan-2" defeated New Zealand, while the third national team crushed Yemen. In the women's tournament, the main squad defeated Argentina, while "Uzbekistan-3" lost to Cuba.

**Javohir Sindarov.**

Playing on the second board, Javohir Sindarov (2778) agreed to a draw with one of Turkey's strongest young chess players, Ediz Gurel (2636). The Uzbek grandmaster played his third game at the Olympiad being held at home; prior to this, he had defeated representatives of Peru and Austria. Currently, he has 2.5 points out of a maximum of 3.

Sindarov's preparation and participation in international tournaments, including the Chess Olympiad, as well as the process of working with coaches, are being carried out with the support of the National Bank of Uzbekistan.

In the match against Turkey, the decisive victory was secured by Nodirbek Yoqubboyev. Playing with the black pieces on the third board, he defeated Vahap Sanal (2544). Nodirbek Abdusattorov drew with Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus (2716), and Shamsiddin Vohidov drew with Emre Can (2534).

As a result, Uzbekistan won with a score of 2.5:1.5, maintaining its one hundred percent record — four victories in four matches and 8 team points. Prior to this round, Uzbekistan and Turkey were among the teams that had not lost a single point yet.

Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov visited the venue where the competition is being held and watched the games of the Uzbekistan national teams.

Uzbekistan's second men's team triumphed over New Zealand with a score of 2.5:1.5.

Muhammadjohid Suyarov defeated Sravan Renjit, and Humoyun Begmuratov defeated Daki Mao. Abdumalik Abdisalimov drew with Felix Xie, while Ortiq Nigmatov lost to Tom Middelburg.

After the defeat against Germany in the third round, "Uzbekistan-2" returned to winning ways.

The third men's team achieved a confident victory over Yemen with a score of 3.5:0.5.

Olmos Rahmatullayev, Muhammadali Abdurahmonov, and Asrorbek Omonov won their games, while Saydakbar Saydaliyev signed a draw with Bashir Al-Qudaimi.

This was the second consecutive major victory for "Uzbekistan-3": in the third round, the team had also defeated Morocco with the same score of 3.5:0.5.

Among Uzbekistan's main competitors, India defeated Spain 3:1. Arjun Erigaisi and Gukesh Dommaraju brought full points, while Praggnanandhaa and Nihal Sarin ended their matches in draws.

China also prevailed over Serbia with a score of 3:1. Wei Yi and Xiangzhi Bu won, while Ding Liren and Yu Yangyi recorded draws.

At the time of publication, the USA had almost finalized its victory against Ukraine — the score was 2.5:0.5, with only the match between Vasyl Ivanchuk and Fabiano Caruana still ongoing. Wesley So defeated Anton Korobov, Levon Aronian beat Roman Dekhtiarov, and Hans Niemann drew with Ihor Samunenkov.

France and Romania played 2:2 — all four games ended in draws. Azerbaijan recorded the same score against the Czech Republic. Armenia defeated Argentina 2.5:1.5, and Hungary beat Israel by the same score.

Uzbekistan's first women's team also celebrated its fourth consecutive victory, triumphing over Argentina with a score of 3:1.

Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova defeated Majo Campos, and Umida Omonova beat Anapaola Borda. Afruza Hamdamova shared points with Candela Francisco, and Guldona Karimova drew with Ernestina Adam.

Thus, the main women's squad, just like the men's, has a maximum of 8 points after the first four rounds.

The third women's team lost to Cuba with a score of 1.5:2.5.

Maftuna Bobomurodova defeated Yerisbel Miranda, bringing the only victory to the team. Zilola Aktamova drew with Maritza Arribas, while Shohina Ahmedova and Barchinoy Shokirjonova lost to their opponents.

The second national team lost to Kyrgyzstan with a score of 1:3. Although Nilufar Yakubbaeva defeated Nurai Sovetbekova, Marjona Malikova, Asal Salimova, and Mumtozbegim Mansurova lost their matches.

Among the leaders in the women's competition, India defeated Mongolia 3:1, China crushed Hungary 3.5:0.5, and the USA defeated Spain with the same score. Kazakhstan prevailed over Armenia 3:1, and Poland defeated Vietnam by the same score.

Germany beat Israel 3:1, and Azerbaijan defeated England 2.5:1.5. Bulgaria unexpectedly achieved a major victory over Romania with a score of 3.5:0.5, and Serbia defeated Iran by the same score. Georgia drew 2:2 with Austria, and France triumphed over Moldova with a score of 3.5:0.5.

The competition is being held under the Swiss system consisting of 11 rounds. Two points are awarded for a team victory, and one point for a draw.
