Chess Olympiad. Uzbekistan defeated Peru, Sindarov secured his first victory
The main men's national team of Uzbekistan defeated Peru 3.5:0.5 in the second round of the Chess Olympiad. Javokhir Sindarov won his first game of the tournament. Uzbekistan-2 crushed Algeria 4:0, while the third team lost to Germany 0.5:3.5. The two women's teams secured victories.

On September 17, the second round of the 46th World Chess Olympiad took place in Samarkand. The main men's national team of Uzbekistan prevailed over Peru, Uzbekistan-2 confidently defeated Algeria, and the country's third team lost to one of the main tournament favorites — Germany.
Javokhir Sindarov, who missed the first round after competing in the Global Chess League in India, made his first appearance at the home Olympiad. On board two, playing with the white pieces, he defeated International Master Diego Saul Rodri Flores Quillas (2398).
On board one, Nodirbek Abdusattorov proved stronger than Peru's top chess player, Jorge Cori (2575).
Another point for Uzbekistan was brought by Shamsiddin Vokhidov, who defeated Steven Rojas (2387). Mukhiddin Madaminov drew his game against Fernando Fernandez (2369).
The final score was 3.5:0.5. After two rounds, the main team of Uzbekistan has won both matches: on the first day, they crushed Jamaica 4:0.
The second men's national team secured its second consecutive victory, without dropping a single point to Algeria — 4:0.
Jakhongir Vokhidov defeated Adlane Arab, Muhammadzohid Suyarov beat Saad Belouadah, Ortik Nigmatov defeated Ala Eddine Boulrense, and Humoyun Begmuratov beat Khalil Bengherabi.
In the first round, Uzbekistan-2 defeated Afghanistan with a score of 3:1.
The third team of Uzbekistan faced Germany — the fifth seed — in the second round. The German team won with a score of 3.5:0.5.
Vincent Keymer defeated Saidakbar Saydaliev, Frederik Svane beat Bakhrom Bakhrillaev, and Alexander Donchenko defeated Almas Rakhmatullaev. The only half-point for the Uzbekistani team was brought by Mukhammadali Abdurakhmonov, who drew with Rasmus Svane.
Following a 3.5:0.5 victory over Mali in the first round, this is the first defeat for Uzbekistan-3 at the tournament.
The top seed — the USA team — narrowly defeated Mongolia with a score of 2.5:1.5 in the second round.
Fabiano Caruana and Levon Aronian won their games, while Hans Niemann drew. Awonder Liang, who outrated his opponent by almost 260 rating points, lost to International Master Itgelt Khuyagtsogt (2435).
In the first round, the Americans also dropped half a point in their match against Iraq.
China defeated Chile 3:1. Wei Yi and Xiangyu Kong won their games, while Ding Liren and Xu Xiangyu drew their matches.
Ukraine defeated Estonia 3:1. Igor Kovalenko, Igor Samunenkov, and Roman Dekhtiarov secured victories, but Vasyl Ivanchuk lost to Ilia Sirosh.
Spain won against Uruguay 3.5:0.5. David Anton drew with Georg Meier, while the Spaniards won the remaining three games.
The main women's national team of Uzbekistan secured its second consecutive clean-sweep victory — this time over Ecuador with a score of 4:0.
Afruza Khamdamova defeated Anahi Ortiz, Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova beat Carla Heredia Serrano, Umida Omonova defeated Samanta Jaramillo, and Nilufarkhon Imomkuzieva beat Arlette Guerrero.
In the first round, Nafisa Muminova's team also won 4:0 against Trinidad and Tobago.
The second women's national team secured its victory over Jordan even before the end of the last game.
Madinabonu Khalilova and Asal Salimova won their matches, while Mumtozbegim Mansurova drew. Nilufar Yakubbaeva's game against Jud Ahmad was still ongoing at the time of writing. The current score was 2.5:0.5 in favor of Uzbekistan-2, meaning the outcome of the match was already decided.
At the time of publication, the third women's national team was trailing the Spanish team with a score of 2:1.
The national team of Kazakhstan defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 3:1. Meruert Kamalidenova and Elnaz Kaliakhmet secured victories, while Bibisara Assaubayeva and Zarina Nurgaliyeva drew.
The reigning Olympic champion, India, also secured an early victory over Finland. Divya Deshmukh, Vantika Agrawal, and Savitha Shri won their games, while Vaishali Rameshbabu's match against Anastasia Keinanen was still ongoing at the time of writing. The score was 3:0.
The 46th World Chess Olympiad is taking place in Samarkand from September 16 to 27 and consists of 11 rounds under the Swiss system.
