Central Asian countries discussed the implementation of artificial intelligence in the work of emergency services
A regional forum of heads of emergency departments of Central Asian countries is taking place in Tashkent, where issues of cooperation in the field of disaster prevention and response are being considered. The Minister for Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, Azizbek Ikramov, took part in the event.
The forum is being held on October 19 and 20. Panel sessions featuring regional experts, as well as bilateral meetings between heads of delegations, took place within its framework. On the final day, reports were delivered by heads of emergency departments of Central Asian countries, as well as representatives of the UN, UNDP, and GIZ.
Ikramov noted the importance of joining forces among the region's countries to prevent and eliminate transboundary emergencies. Among the priorities, he named the implementation of artificial intelligence in the work of emergency services and the development of early warning systems.
For the first time, a delegation from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan is participating in the forum as an observer.
Following the meeting, a number of documents are expected to be signed, which should serve as the basis for the implementation of regional projects to protect the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies, including in border areas.
