Burnley posts tribute to Satpayev after historic debut

English football club Burnley has posted a tribute to Kazakhstan international striker Dastan Satpayev on its social media page after his debut for the club.

The club's statement reads: "Dastan Satpayev has become the first Kazakh player to play for Burnley."

Satpayev joined Burnley on loan from Chelsea. The 18-year-old Kazakh international made his debut for his new team. He came on as a substitute in a 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in the Championship, England's second-tier league.

For information, Burnley finished the 2025/2026 English Premier League season in 19th place, one place above the bottom of the table, leaving the top division and relegating to the Championship.

Satpayev, who previously played for Kairat, joined Chelsea this summer. According to Transfermarkt, the player's market value is 3.5 million euros.

Chelsea bought Satpayev from Kairat in January 2025 for 4.3 million euros. The Kazakh striker made his debut for the London club in a friendly match against Western Sydney Wanderers and scored his first goal.
