Burkhanov and Monfarid discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation
A meeting was held in Samarkand between Kutbidin Burkhanov, Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Defense and Security and Co-Chairman of the Uzbekistan-Iran Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Group, and a delegation led by Amir Monfarid, Member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran and member of the Iran-Uzbekistan inter-parliamentary cooperation group. This was reported by the Senate press service.
During the conversation, the parties reviewed issues of further strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, developing the work of inter-parliamentary cooperation groups, exchanging experience at the parliamentary level, and supporting joint initiatives.
It was emphasized that in recent years, thanks to the political will and efforts of the heads of state, the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran has reached a new level.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue the regular inter-parliamentary dialogue and to effectively utilize existing opportunities to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation.
