The Senate press service reported on a meeting between Kutbidin Burkhanov and Iranian MP Amir Monfarid in Samarkand.

Burkhanov and Monfarid discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation
A meeting was held in Samarkand between Kutbidin Burkhanov, Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Defense and Security and Co-Chairman of the Uzbekistan-Iran Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Group, and a delegation led by Amir Monfarid, Member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran and member of the Iran-Uzbekistan inter-parliamentary cooperation group. This was reported by the Senate press service.
During the conversation, the parties reviewed the further strengthening of interaction between the parliaments of the two countries, the development of the work of inter-parliamentary cooperation groups, the exchange of parliamentary experience, and support for joint initiatives.
It was noted that in recent years, thanks to the political will and efforts of the heads of state, multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran has reached a new level.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue regular inter-parliamentary dialogue and to effectively utilize existing opportunities to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation.
