Botir Zaripov promised to completely eliminate poverty and unemployment in Bukhara by the end of the year

In the Bukhara region, it is planned to completely eliminate poverty and unemployment by the end of 2026. This was stated by the regional khokim Botir Zaripov in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

According to the khokim, as of January 1, 2026, the poverty rate in the Bukhara region was 6 percent, and the unemployment rate was 4.7 percent.

Thanks to the decrees and resolutions adopted during the past period, as well as the allocated funds, it has been ensured that the poverty and unemployment rates in the region do not exceed 2 percent.

"But today we have set ourselves such a goal that we have taken upon ourselves the obligation to completely eliminate poverty and unemployment in the Bukhara region among the segment of the population that is not under state care," Botir Zaripov said.

According to him, headquarters have been established in 13 districts and cities of the region. The headquarters visited 516 mahallas and formed a list of the unemployed and poor identified by the Social Register and the mahalla "seven" to ensure employment and reduce poverty.

This data was entered into an electronic platform, and systematic work has begun to employ citizens or lift them out of poverty.

According to Botir Zaripov, there are currently more than 10,000 vacant jobs in the Bukhara region.

"We have taken upon ourselves the obligation to completely eliminate poverty and completely end unemployment. By the end of this year, the set tasks will be fully implemented in our region," the khokim said.
