Both poorly and poorly
Salaries in Uzbekistan turned out to be among the lowest in Central Asia

Neither good nor well
Uzbekistan has failed to compete with its Central Asian neighbors in terms of wage levels. According to the National Committee on Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in the second quarter of the current year, the average monthly nominal wage amounted to only 591 US dollars.
Kazakhstan became the leader among the CA countries with $988. According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, nominal wages reached $615 in Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2026, and $358 US dollars in Tajikistan.
When compared with CIS countries, wages in the first half of 2026 were higher than in Uzbekistan in five of them. In particular, the highest nominal wage among the Commonwealth states in January–June of the current year was recorded in Russia ($1.4 thousand) and Belarus (over $1 thousand).
Notably, wages grew at different rates in these countries in the first half of 2026. The highest nominal wage indices were recorded in Kyrgyzstan (127.5%) and Tajikistan (119.6%).
In Uzbekistan, the dynamics of this indicator compared to the same period last year were more moderate: the index stood at 118.4% — however, this is still higher than in Kazakhstan (110.3%), Russia (112.7%), Belarus (113.2%), and Armenia (105.5%).
