Bodies of Uzbeks killed in Tatarstan brought home

The bodies of Uzbek citizens killed in a drone attack in Tatarstan have been brought back to the country.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a special flight of the Uzbek Air Force was made on August 12 to bring back the bodies.

On August 10, 8 Uzbek construction workers were killed in a drone attack by Ukraine on the city of Nizhnekamsk. Before their bodies were repatriated, a funeral prayer was held in one of the mosques in Nizhnekamsk.

In addition to the victims, several Uzbeks were hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries.

At least 13 people were killed in the drone attack, 8 of whom were citizens of Uzbekistan and one citizen of Tajikistan. 9 of the dead were in the dormitory at the time of the attack. 39 people were also injured in the attack.

This was one of the deadliest incidents in Russia in recent months among civilians.

The Uzbek side has not yet publicly responded to the Ukrainian side regarding the attack on the hostel, which was a civilian facility.
