Belarus and Uzbekistan to expand judicial cooperation
The Supreme Courts of Belarus and Uzbekistan discussed the development of professional ties and preparations for the meeting of the Council of CIS Courts in Minsk.
Belarus and Uzbekistan intend to deepen cooperation between their judicial systems.
According to the press service of the Supreme Court of Belarus, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Belarus Andrei Shved and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Nuriddin Mamajonov held a meeting to discuss cooperation between the two countries' judicial bodies. One of the key topics was preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Council of Supreme Court Chairmen of the CIS Member States in Minsk in October.
During the talks, the parties focused on developing professional ties between the judicial bodies of Belarus and Uzbekistan, as well as exchanging judicial experience.
Andrei Shved emphasized the importance of judicial cooperation in the context of bilateral relations. He noted that the October meeting of the Council of Supreme Court Chairmen of the CIS Member States, which will be held in Minsk for the first time under the chairmanship of the Supreme Court of Belarus, is a significant event.
The Chairman of the Supreme Court of Belarus particularly emphasized the importance of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan's participation in the Council's work for the Belarusian side. In his opinion, the upcoming meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss current issues in judicial practice.
The Belarusian side expressed interest in further expanding professional cooperation with their Uzbek colleagues. Andrei Shved identified the exchange of experience in improving judicial practice, enhancing the effectiveness of justice, digitalizing legal proceedings, and training judicial personnel as priority areas of cooperation.
Nuriddin Mamajonov, for his part, confirmed Uzbekistan's interest in further developing cooperation with their Belarusian colleagues. He emphasized the usefulness of continuing interaction on international judicial and legal platforms, including holding joint events, professional meetings, and exchanging delegations.
Following the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of maintaining direct professional contacts and further developing cooperation between the judicial bodies of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
