Belarus and Uzbekistan will expand cooperation in medicine, tourism, IT, and industry.

Belarus and Uzbekistan intend to deepen cooperation in various sectors, including healthcare, tourism, information technology, and industry. This was announced by Vladimir Kukharev, Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, at a meeting with Nuriddin Mamajonov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Belarus, as reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to strengthen trade and economic ties and expand interaction. Particular attention was paid to industrial cooperation, where Belarus proposed developing collaboration in woodworking and furniture production, emphasizing the high demand for Belarusian products in the Uzbek market.

In the healthcare sector, Belarus expressed its readiness to assist its Uzbek partners in establishing ties with medical equipment manufacturers. Prospects for cooperation in education were also discussed, noting the growing interest of Uzbek citizens in studying in Belarus.

Vladimir Kukharev emphasized the importance of increasing the number of flights between the countries to develop tourism and business contacts. The parties also expressed interest in expanding cooperation in IT and scientific research.

The opening of the Trade House of Uzbekistan in Minsk was hailed as an important step in developing bilateral business ties, of interest to both businesses and consumers.

Ambassador Nuriddin Mamajonov noted the extensive potential for cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan, from industrial cooperation to culture and tourism. He emphasized that both countries are fulfilling the objectives set by their leaders and expect to achieve the first practical results this year.

The International Economic Cooperation Forum, which will be held on September 11 in Minsk, will provide an additional platform for developing business contacts. Uzbek entrepreneurs are expected to participate in negotiations with their Belarusian counterparts.

The meeting also discussed the localization of Belarusian equipment in Uzbekistan. Nuriddin Mamajonov expressed the Uzbek side's interest in establishing Belarusian service centers and organizing the assembly of municipal and passenger vehicles, in particular, Belkommunmash products. Localizing bus production to upgrade public transport in major cities of Uzbekistan is also considered a promising area.

The meeting confirmed Belarus and Uzbekistan's mutual interest in expanding practical cooperation, implementing joint projects, and moving to a new stage of trade and economic cooperation.
