Apple will allow the use of one eSIM on two iPhones — this feature will appear in iOS 27 through the iPhone Handoff function. This was first mentioned at the WWDC 2026 conference, but the company did not disclose details at the time.

Now, the MacRumors publication has shared additional information.

According to the publication, when the feature is enabled, the primary iPhone will keep its SIM card, while a separate copy of it will be linked to the second device. This will allow for quick switching between devices while keeping a single number.

Connection settings will remain on the primary device, while the geolocation will be determined by the iPhone currently using the number. The feature can be enabled via the "Settings" → "Cellular" menu.

However, for iPhone Handoff to work, it must be supported by mobile network operators. According to preliminary data, customers of T-Mobile (USA) and Deutsche Telekom in Germany will be the first to be able to activate it.

The presentation of iOS 27 is expected at the end of the month, and next week Apple will present the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra.
