Apple presented an "all-new" iPad Mini

Apple presented an "entirely new" iPad Mini

For the first time, the compact tablet is equipped with a Super Retina XDR OLED display. Due to the reduced bezels, the display diagonal increased from 8.3 inches to 8.5 inches.

It provides richer blacks, higher contrast, and a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits — double that of the previous model.

Apple has also provided a version with a nano-texture coating that reduces glare in bright lighting. The minimum screen brightness is just 1 nit, which should make using the tablet in the dark even more comfortable. At the same time, the screen refresh rate remained unchanged at 60 Hz.

The iPad Mini body became even thinner, measuring just 5.4 mm. The tablet also received IP67 water and dust resistance; previously, no iPad could boast such an indicator. This was achieved thanks to an "acoustic display" — built-in speakers inside the screen.

The heart of the tablet is the new A20 Pro processor built on a 2-nanometer process technology — the same chip installed in the iPhone 18 Pro. According to Apple, it provides a significant increase in performance for graphics tasks and artificial intelligence work. The tablet runs under iPadOS 27 and supports Apple Intelligence and Siri.

Apple also moved the 12-megapixel Center Stage front camera to the long side of the body. This positioning is much more convenient for video calls and conferences in landscape mode. In addition, the tablet received an adaptive True Tone flash that improves the quality of photography and document scanning.

Pre-orders will be accepted from October 28, and sales will start on November 6. The device is offered in three storage capacities: 128, 256, and 512 GB. Along with the technical specs, the price also increased: the iPad Mini costs $699. The version with the nano-texture coating is more expensive, starting at $849. Unlike the previous generation, there are only two colors: gold and gray.
