Apple Pay may launch in Uzbekistan in the coming days

Apple Pay may start working in Uzbekistan in the coming days
In Uzbekistan, the launch of Apple Pay — a contactless payment service from Apple devices — is expected in the coming days. At the same time, Google Pay has become available in the country for foreign tourists.
According to the Tourism Committee, the Central Bank, commercial banks, as well as the HUMO and Uzcard payment systems are conducting technical preparations for the launch of Apple Pay. However, the agency has not yet specified the exact launch date.
In parallel, Uzbekistan is developing payment solutions for tourists from China and India. In August, the Alipay+ payment gateway began operating on the HUMO infrastructure, allowing users of the Chinese service and compatible e-wallets to pay for purchases via UZQR QR codes.
In addition, the connection of the Indian payment system UPI is being discussed. At the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, representatives of HUMO and NPCI International reviewed practical issues regarding the integration of the Indian system with the Uzbek one. Once the project is implemented, tourists from India will be able to pay for goods and services by scanning QR codes through their familiar applications.
The launch of Google Pay in Uzbekistan was announced at a meeting of the Central Asian countries and the US in the "C5+1" format in Samarkand.
