A new section of a dedicated BRT bus lane, about a kilometer long, has been launched in Tashkent. Now the total length of the continuous bus rapid transit line on Shota Rustaveli and Shakhrisabz streets is almost 8 kilometers.

As reported by the Traffic Management Center, the new section runs along Shakhrisabz Street from the intersection with Amir Temur Avenue to Makhtumkuli Street. It is located between the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and City Maternity Hospital No. 6.

Dedicated lanes are laid in the central part of the road and allow buses to move separately from the main traffic flow. This is expected to reduce delays in traffic jams, increase the regularity of service, and make travel times more predictable.

In the future, a single transport corridor should connect the Sergeli and Yunusabad districts. The city authorities will provide additional information about subsequent sections and possible traffic changes.

Earlier, due to the construction of the BRT on Shakhrisabz Street, the routes of five bus lines were temporarily changed. The restrictions affected buses No. 2, 26, 37, 68, and 93, for which a detour via adjacent streets was organized.
