Another "green wave" system has been launched in the center of Tashkent. Now 5 traffic light objects around Amir Temur Avenue operate on the basis of a single "green wave" algorithm. This system is aimed at regulating traffic and reducing unnecessary stops at traffic lights.

In order to increase pedestrian safety, the Traffic Management Center installed 5 new traffic lights around the avenue and at adjacent intersections. Currently, these traffic lights are synchronized with each other.

The system coordinates traffic in two directions. For example, a driver who starts driving at a green light at the intersection of Amir Temur and Bukhara streets can go through the roundabout and move along Amir Temur Street towards Aloy Bazaar without stopping at traffic lights.

In the opposite direction, cars moving by the State Museum of the History of the Timurids can also move in the "green wave" mode, passing through the roundabout, subject to the established conditions, to the intersection of Amir Temur and Bukhara streets.

In the "green wave", the green light does not turn on at all traffic lights at the same time. The green signals are turned on alternately at certain intervals, taking into account the time required for the car to reach the next traffic light from one traffic light.

If the driver starts the movement on the green signal, adheres to the established speed limit and continues the movement in a rhythm, he can reach the next traffic lights while the green signal is on.

Experts emphasize that the "green wave" was introduced not to increase speed, but to organize traffic evenly and safely.

To effectively use the system, drivers are advised to start driving at a green signal, adhere to the set speed, avoid sudden acceleration and braking, maintain a safe distance, and give way to pedestrians.

Currently, an algorithm is being developed to connect the route from the roundabout on Amir Temur Avenue to Makhtumkuli Street to the "green wave" system. This is expected to expand the coverage of the system and make movement in this direction more convenient.
