Bad odor spreading in the area of "Amir Temur" metro station

"Toshkent Metropoliteni" JSC has commented on the reports circulating about an unpleasant odor at the "Amir Temur Xiyoboni" metro station.

Reports had spread on social networks about an unpleasant odor coming from the area of the Amir Temur Xiyoboni metro station. It was determined that this unpleasant odor was caused by a malfunction in the city sewerage networks located on Mustaqillik Avenue.

Specifically, water leaking as a result of the malfunction in the sewerage network penetrated into the interior through the concrete structure of the metro tunnel, resulting in an unpleasant odor in the station area.

Regarding this situation, "Toshkent Metropoliteni" JSC sent an official appeal to the Tashkent City Hokimiyat and the city sewerage networks department, requesting the immediate elimination of the identified malfunction and the taking of appropriate measures.

Also, in order to create comfortable and safe conditions for passengers, this situation has been taken under control by "Toshkent Metropoliteni" JSC.

For information, 1,165,550 passengers used the services of the metro during September 14. The previous highest figure was recorded on May 8, 2026, when 1,117,061 passengers used the services of the Tashkent metro.
