In Uzbekistan, an intelligent customs control system is being introduced. Video

The customs authorities of Uzbekistan are expanding electronic data exchange with foreign countries in order to identify discrepancies in declarations and potential attempts to evade customs payments even before goods arrive at the border.

As part of the intelligent customs system, an electronic exchange of information on export declarations has been established with a number of foreign countries. The received data is automatically compared with the information specified in import declarations in Uzbekistan.

If the system detects discrepancies, it will generate a risk signal. Following this, an additional inspection may be ordered for the cargo, or a customs audit may be conducted. In this way, potential violations can be identified even before the goods arrive at the border, allowing the attention of customs authorities to be focused on operations that require additional control.

The Customs Committee notes that the system is also designed to prevent duty evasion and create a level playing field for honest entrepreneurs.
