Customs clearance time in Uzbekistan will be reduced to 2 hours for imports and 30 minutes for exports

Customs clearance times in Uzbekistan are expected to be reduced to 2 hours for imports and 30 minutes for exports. This is one of the main goals set in the "New Customs of Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy.

According to the strategy, digital technologies and artificial intelligence will be widely used to simplify and accelerate customs processes. In particular, the risk management system will be improved, the possibility of clearance of goods and vehicles before their arrival at the customs territory will be created, as well as mechanisms for automatic filling of electronic queues and declarations will be introduced.

The use of modern technical means in customs control will also be expanded. The strategy provides for equipping customs territories with modern control equipment, automating the process of passing goods through customs control, and increasing the value of identified goods to 450 billion soums. It is also planned to increase the share of electronic seals used when vehicles enter and exit the customs territory to 30 percent.

The document pays special attention to reducing the human factor. By 2030, it is aimed to increase the volume of customs clearance without the human factor to 60%. This will simplify customs procedures for entrepreneurs and speed up the processes of importing and exporting goods into the country.

The strategy sets out a number of measures for 2026–2030, which are aimed at modernizing the customs system, creating favorable conditions for business, simplifying foreign trade operations, and improving the quality of customs services.

Earlier, it was proposed to improve the procedure for conducting foreign trade operations for entrepreneurs operating in the field of e-commerce and services related to international transportation in Uzbekistan. The relevant draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers was submitted for public discussion on August 15.
