An explanation was provided regarding a living woman being documented as deceased in Samarkand

The Samarkand Regional Health Department conducted an investigation into this situation.

It was established that M.M., born in 2001 and residing in the Bulungur district, applied to the maternity department on August 18, 2022, in a serious condition due to uterine bleeding.

Medical examinations revealed that the fetus had died in the mother's womb. After that, the woman was provided with the necessary medical assistance, and the deceased fetus was delivered. The case was registered as an antenatal death in accordance with the established procedure.

However, when entering the information into the electronic database, a technical error was made by the attending physician Ra’no G‘ofurova. As a result, the PINFL (personal identification number of a physical person) from the woman's passport was linked to the data of the deceased fetus.

In 2023, M.M. faced a problem due to this exact error during the process of obtaining a birth certificate for her second child. District medical officials and registry office employees resolved the error in the electronic database.

Additionally, at the end of 2023, no problems or obstacles arose during the issuance of a new ID card for M.M.

The Samarkand Regional Health Department reported that, in cooperation with relevant organizations, measures have also been taken to eliminate shortcomings related to the Face ID system in the electronic database regarding this situation.
