According to Ambassador Furqat Sidiqov, who spoke with Kun.uz, Washington views Tashkent as a key partner in Central Asia, and the current relations will be maintained under future administrations as well.

On September 2, the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence was solemnly celebrated in the US capital, Washington. The event was attended by officials from the US government, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and compatriots. In an interview with Kun.uz, Ambassador Furqat Sidiqov stated that Washington views Tashkent as its key partner in Central Asia, and the existing relations will continue under future administrations.
This year, Independence Day is being widely celebrated not only in Uzbekistan but also in the republic's partner countries and regions with large Uzbek populations. For instance, various events were held in more than 10 US states. On September 2, the main celebration was organized in Washington, attended by American officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and our compatriots living in America.
Ambassador Furqat Sidiqov delivered a speech, congratulating the attendees on the holiday. Paul Kapur, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central Asia, and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce also participated. They referred to Uzbekistan as an essential partner.
According to Uzbekistan's Ambassador to the US, Furqat Sidiqov, who spoke with Kun.uz, Washington recognizes Tashkent as its key partner in Central Asia.
“Our relations have become institutionalized; the US has seen Uzbekistan opening up to the world and renewing itself. Therefore, we have built our current cooperation on a long-term foundation,” the ambassador said.
In addition, the diplomat added that President Mirziyoyev's gift of two pavilions for the "National Garden of American Heroes," which is being built at Trump's initiative, is also a major event.
“In spring, the cherry blossoms bloom beautifully in that park, which is a gift from the Emperor of Japan. Now, next to it, there will also be the pavilions that are a gift from our president,” the ambassador said.
Also speaking with Kun.uz, the Consul General in New York, Jamil Sharapov, said that today, Uzbeks are united solely by their love for the Motherland.
Another Uzbek entrepreneur mentioned that in recent years, many concerts have been organized for our Uzbek compatriots, but due to difficulties in obtaining visas, plans do not always go smoothly.
According to Farhod Inogomboyev, Head of the Capital Markets Department at the investment company Oppenheimer, today Uzbekistan needs the US, and the US needs Uzbekistan.
“Look, Uzbekistan's population is growing; it is a large market. Also, rare mineral resources, natural deposits, and mining are of greater interest to the US government today than ever before,” he said.
