Air quality monitoring stations are being installed near airports
"Uzbekistan Airports" JSC is launching an automatic monitoring system for ambient air quality around the country's airports.
It is reported that a station has been installed in Fergana, while the installation and configuration of similar equipment in Samarkand have been completed. In the future, it is planned to place such stations near other airports as well.
The equipment, designed for round-the-clock air quality monitoring, will be located within the sanitary protection zones of the airports.
The stations will measure the concentration of pollutants, including nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide, as well as fine particulate matter PM2.5 and PM10. At the same time, the system will also record air temperature and humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, and direction.
The measurement results will be automatically transmitted to the unified geoinformation database of the Environmental Monitoring System.
