Aichi-Nagoya 2026: Two more athletes from Uzbekistan became Asian Games champions
The delegation of Uzbekistan won two more gold medals at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. In artistic gymnastics, Otkirbek Jorayev became the champion in the pommel horse event, and in athletics, Sharifa Davronova won gold in the triple jump program. The number of gold medals in Uzbekistan's tally has reached six.
Aichi-Nagoya 2026: Two more Uzbek athletes become Asian Games champions
The delegation of Uzbekistan won two more gold medals at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. Utkirbek Jurayev in artistic gymnastics and Sharifa Davronova in athletics became Asian Games champions.
Utkirbek Jurayev, a member of the Uzbekistan national artistic gymnastics team, showed the best result in the pommel horse exercise and won the gold medal.
Jurayev scored 14.733 points in the final. This result allowed him to take first place in the pommel horse exercise and become the champion of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
Sharifa Davronova, a member of the Uzbekistan national athletics team, secured the gold medal in the triple jump event with a result of 14.35 meters.
Thus, Davronova won the title of Asian Games champion for the second time. She presented the delegation of Uzbekistan with another gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 competitions.
The number of gold medals in Uzbekistan's tally has reached 6. The previous gold medals were won by Shohsanam Sherzodova in canoeing, Abdulvakhob Rashidov in karate, Shahzod Nurmatov and Sobirjon Safaraliyev in rowing, and Vladimir Svechnikov in shooting events.
