Agencies clarified the methodology for analyzing the international air quality index
In response to discussions on social networks surrounding the published data of the international air quality index, specialized agencies explained that assessing the state of the atmosphere requires an integrated approach.
Specialists note that the index indicators reflect the current state of the air at a specific moment in time, but in themselves do not allow for determining the immediate causes and sources of pollution. Atmospheric quality is affected by vehicle emissions, industrial facilities, heating systems, and weather conditions, so conclusions must be based on a comprehensive analysis of the composition of pollutant concentrations and the conditions under which measurements were taken.
As part of the decree of the head of state dated March 25, 2026, on the implementation of the nationwide project "Clean Air" and the resolution dated October 13, 2026, a set of measures is being carried out to reduce harmful emissions and introduce energy-efficient solutions.
Particular attention is paid to the greening of greenhouse facilities, primarily in the capital region. On October 13, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals to introduce a special ecological regime in Tashkent and five adjacent districts, which provides for transitioning greenhouses to ecologically clean energy sources, installing dust and gas cleaning equipment, and providing financial support to entrepreneurs to adapt to the new standards.
The Ministry of Agriculture maintains continuous advisory work with farmers, explaining the rules for installing modern multi-stage filters and carbon monoxide monitoring systems. The agency refuted claims circulating on social networks regarding the forced nature of equipment installation, emphasizing that the work is conducted on the principles of open dialogue, the protection of legitimate business interests, and strict compliance with environmental legislation.
