Strike on Kharkiv energy sector after Trump announced a truce — Zelenskyy

According to DW, Zelenskyy reported on Telegram on the evening of October 11 that Kharkiv's energy infrastructure had been targeted.

"Just now, CHP-5 in the city of Kharkiv, Kharkiv's energy sector, was struck," the President of Ukraine said.

About an hour later, he specially noted that the attack on energy facilities in the Kharkiv region occurred after the US President announced a halt to strikes on energy.

Meanwhile, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that three people were killed and another 22 were injured in a missile strike on the city's outskirts on the evening of October 11.

According to him, two multi-story buildings, one private house, a grocery store building, and five cars were damaged. However, Syniehubov did not mention the attack on the CHP in this report. Therefore, the report did not clarify whether the casualties and wounded were directly linked to the strike on the power plant.

The local "Kharkov Info" Telegram channel also wrote about the evening attack on the CHP and posted a video showing a fire. According to the channel's authors, the footage was taken by local residents on October 11.

On that same day, Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an "energy truce".

"As of this moment, an energy truce is in effect in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Both sides have agreed to this. Do not break it!" the US President wrote on Truth Social.

Zelenskyy initially told an Axios journalist that he was unaware of such a partial truce being reached. However, he stated that he would support the initiative if Russia also agreed.

Later, the President of Ukraine reported that Kyiv was waiting for details from the American side. He stressed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had received all orders, and now specific information regarding the US dialogue with Russia and Putin's compliance with the terms stated by Trump was expected.
