A disciplinary penalty was applied to the governor of Piskent district. On October 13, the governor of Tashkent region signed an order to this effect.
As noted in the document, the governor of Piskent district, Muzaffar Aripov, failed to comply with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution dated October 14, 2022, "On additional measures to ensure compliance with the rules of ethical conduct by state civil servants." It is also indicated that he violated the professional ethics of a public servant.
On this basis, a disciplinary sanction in the form of a reprimand was applied against Muzaffar Aripov.
The submission of the Anti-Corruption Agency, the report of the Ethics Commission of the regional hokimiyat, and Muzaffar Aripov's explanatory letter were cited as the basis for the document.
Earlier, it was reported that the governor of Piskent district pressured farmers, threatening to take away their land. The governor told the farmers "not to joke around, not to mess with him, and that forget about their land, he would rip their souls out."
Following this, the Council of Farmers submitted an application to the prosecutor's office requesting a legal assessment of Muzaffar Aripov's actions, and the Business Ombudsman announced that the situation had been taken under control. Meanwhile, in its official response, the Piskent district hokimiyat blamed the farmers themselves, stating that "land is not a farmer's private property."
