**The President signed a decree on reforming the judicial system**
According to the new presidential decree, the country's judicial system will undergo significant changes. Provisions establishing inter-district courts will come into force on July 1, 2027. These new courts will be empowered to review cases under both general jurisdiction and administrative disputes. 319 administrative staff positions will be allocated to support their functioning.
The phased establishment of district and city courts for civil cases is planned for the period from 2027 to 2030. They will be established in all regions of the country, taking into account factors such as population size, the current volume of cases handled, the workload of the judiciary, and the territorial characteristics of each region.
Particular attention is being paid to strengthening judicial review in criminal proceedings. Beginning July 1, 2027, investigative judges will receive expanded powers. They will be empowered to verify the legality and validity of detentions, as well as to assess the sufficiency of grounds for raising suspicion or bringing charges.
