A powerful explosion occurred near the Polish border

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on September 17 that another powerful explosion had occurred on Ukrainian territory, very close to the Polish border.
According to him, the incident took place near the Dorohusk border crossing and likely targeted a gas station.
Tusk emphasized that the explosion was very powerful. Due to the attack, Polish military aviation scrambled fighter jets.
According to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, a jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicle was involved. The drone was either hit or shot down by air defense systems on Ukrainian territory, approximately 4 kilometers from the Polish-Ukrainian border.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that the border crossing itself was not damaged as a result of the attack.
Amid the attack, residents of Poland's Lublin and Subcarpathian voivodeships received warning messages from the government security center. Meanwhile, Lublin and Rzeszów airports temporarily suspended flights.
Speaking in the Polish parliament on that day, Donald Tusk, relying on intelligence data, said that Russia might be planning "hybrid attacks" using drones and missiles against countries providing aid to Ukraine, including Poland.
However, Tusk did not specify which intelligence services provided this information.
The Polish Prime Minister also drew attention to the fact that the new attack coincided with the 87th anniversary of the Soviet Union's invasion of Poland on September 17, 1939.
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz accused Russia of escalating the war against Ukraine, stating that Moscow "is not stopping its aggressive actions."
According to DW, this is the second such strike within a week in the immediate vicinity of the Dorohusk–Yahodyn border crossing.
