A new section of the Green Wave has been launched in Tashkent.

A new section of the Green Wave has opened on Shota Rustaveli Street in Tashkent, reducing travel times by almost 30%.

A new section of the Green Wave system has been launched in Tashkent, located on Shota Rustaveli Street. This section covers the area from the South Station to the Grand Mir Hotel and operates in both directions. According to data obtained after testing, the system's implementation has reduced travel time on this section by almost 30%.

When traveling from the South Station to the Grand Mir Hotel, travel time has decreased from 11 minutes 30 seconds to 8 minutes. The number of stops at red lights has been reduced from six to two.

In the opposite direction, from the Grand Mir Hotel to the South Station, travel time has decreased from 12 minutes to 8 minutes 30 seconds. The number of stops at red lights has also been reduced from six to two.

Thus, travel time in both directions has been reduced by 3 minutes 30 seconds, which is approximately 30% compared to the pre-system period.

The Green Wave system operates by synchronizing traffic lights to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow. For each subsequent traffic light, the optimal green signal interval is calculated based on the time it takes a vehicle to pass the previous section.

For drivers who adhere to the recommended speed limit and maintain a steady flow of traffic, the system allows them to pass successive traffic lights without stopping if they start moving on a green light. The system's effectiveness depends directly on the current traffic situation and the ability of traffic to maintain a smooth flow.

For maximum system effectiveness, drivers are advised to:

* Start moving immediately after the green light turns on.

* Observe the established speed limit.

* Avoid sudden acceleration and braking.

* Maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

* Obey traffic light signals, yielding to pedestrians.

The implementation of this system is aimed at ensuring smoother and safer traffic flow. This is expected to result in fewer stops at traffic lights, shorter queues at intersections and waiting times, and lower fuel consumption and emissions.
