A new recreation area will be established along the Salor Canal in Tashkent

The banks of the Salor Canal flowing through the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent city will be landscaped and transformed into a modern recreation area. The project covers a section of nearly 1.5 kilometers in length, passing through the territories of the Mirzakalon Ismoiliy and Asaka neighborhoods.

The area starts in front of the Mirzo Ulugbek district khokimiyat building and extends to the Central Park. Within the framework of the project, existing trees and green spaces will be preserved and landscaped. Buildings along the canal will be inventoried, and illegally occupied areas will also be brought into order.

Additionally, it is planned to establish pedestrian and bicycle paths, special paths for people with disabilities, benches and canopies, as well as children's and workout playgrounds here.

The effective use of the first floors of multi-story buildings No. 1A, 2, 3, 5, and 7 in the Mirzakalon Ismoiliy neighborhood is envisaged. It is planned to launch entrepreneurial activities and create new jobs here.

At a video selector meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev on September 11, it was announced that a 20-kilometer continuous pedestrian path would be established along the section of the Bozsu Canal from the Martyrs' Memory Alley to the Chilanzar district.

During the meeting, the necessity of creating modern infrastructure for residents to walk more, engage in sports, and relax in the open air was emphasized. For this purpose, it was proposed to transform the banks of canals and large ditches in the capital into open and safe walking areas for the population.
