The walking zone along the Salar canal in Tashkent is planned to be extended to Central Park

In Tashkent, there are plans to extend the walking zone along the Salar canal from the khokimiyat of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district to Central Park.

The total length of the area to be landscaped will be about 1.5 km. It is planned to set up a pedestrian zone, bicycle paths, install benches and gazebos, as well as create children's and workout playgrounds.

It is reported that business facilities are planned to be located on the ground floors of buildings No. 1A, 2, 3, 5, and 7 in the "Mirzakalon Ismoiliy" mahalla.

Fences have already been dismantled here, paths have been laid out, and benches and areas for children's games and sports have appeared. However, just a couple of months later, cars began to park on the walking path.

The sketches show the same high fence along the canal as near the khokimiyat, and the bicycle path is also placed next to the fence. This means that pedestrians will have neither visual contact with the water nor the opportunity to get close to it (or even to the fence).

Whether there are plans to implement measures to clean the water in the canal, where wastewater is discharged from various sources, is not specified.
