According to the "Dunyo" news agency, negotiations were held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London with the leadership of Heriot-Watt University.
During the meeting, issues of implementing joint projects in the fields of education, science, and innovation, as well as developing faculty and student exchanges, were discussed. Prospects for cooperation in scientific research and professional development were also considered.
One of the main topics of the negotiations was the possibility of the university opening its own campus in Uzbekistan. So far, no information has been provided regarding a final decision on opening the campus or its launch date.
University representatives expressed readiness to expand ties with higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. In particular, interest was shown in launching joint educational projects, organizing professional development programs and training for faculty, and conducting joint scientific research.
The parties also considered opportunities for cooperation based on the "double degree" principle.
Heriot-Watt University was founded in 1821 in Scotland under the name "School of Arts of Edinburgh." The institution is known for its scientific research and innovative approaches to education.
According to data provided by the "Dunyo" news agency, nearly 31,000 students study at the university, including its foreign campuses, and more than 2,000 teachers work there.
