A 300 MW solar photovoltaic plant and a 150 MW energy storage system have been commissioned in the Nurata district of the Navoi region.
This $390 million project was implemented in partnership with China Energy Overseas Investment. Thirty permanent jobs have been created at the facilities.
The plant will generate 657 million kWh of green electricity annually. This volume is sufficient to power approximately 273,000 households for a year.
The commissioning of this complex will save 175 million cubic meters of natural gas annually and prevent the emission of 377,000 tons of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
It is noted that in the run-up to the 35th anniversary of independence, 163 industrial, service, and social facilities worth nearly 50 trillion soums were launched in various regions of Uzbekistan. Their operation is expected to create 15,000 jobs.
