A $170 million project to produce electric buses has been launched in Fergana
Construction of a $170 million electric bus factory has begun in Fergana. The first phase of the project will produce 700 electric buses per year, followed by the production of electric trucks. The products will be supplied to the local market and exported.

A project to produce electric buses has been launched in the Yozyavon district of Fergana region in collaboration with the Chinese companies Xiang Yang Tenglong Automobile and GIG Investments. The regional administration reported this.
The project is being implemented on an area of 10 hectares of a special industrial zone located in the Ijodkor neighborhood of Yozyavon district. This enterprise, with a total cost of $170 million, will have a production capacity of 700 electric buses per year. The enterprise is planned to be launched in December 2027.
Initially, the production of electric buses will be launched, and in the future it is also planned to produce electric trucks.
According to the regional administration, the products will be supplied not only to the domestic market, but also exported to foreign countries. The project is expected to serve to increase the industrial potential of Fergana region and create new jobs.
The event dedicated to the launch of the project was attended by the Governor of Fergana region Khairullo Bozorov, entrepreneurs, investors, public representatives and luminaries. At the end of the event, the foundation stone of the enterprise was laid and construction work began.
Preliminary agreements on the project were discussed in March.
On March 13, the Governor of Fergana region Khairullo Bozorov received a delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese company "Xiangyang Tenglong Automobile Co., Ltd." Wang Wenjun. The meeting discussed the implementation of a promising project in the Yozyavon district, the production of high-quality and export-oriented products, and the creation of new jobs. The parties agreed on the next stages of cooperation.
It was also reported that the issues of production and localization of special vehicles and other equipment for firefighting and transportation of household waste were also discussed at the March meeting.
