**78-year-old football referee enters Guinness Book of Records**

78-year-old Welsh referee Ken Wright has entered the Guinness Book of Records. He was recognized as the longest-serving referee in football history and was awarded a special certificate. RBC Sport reported this with reference to the UEFA press service.

According to information, Wright began his refereeing career in 1964. Over the past 63 seasons, he has worked in more than 5,000 matches. These matches cover a wide range, from amateur competitions in Wales to senior tournaments.

The experienced referee refereed in exhibition matches for the Welsh team Swansea City against PSG and Manchester United. He has also refereed a number of matches involving English clubs, including Highbury (Arsenal's former home), White Hart Lane (Tottenham's former home) and Chelsea's Stamford Bridge.

The Welshman is still in action at the age of 78. He still referees Swansea County's Senior League matches.
