Turkish referee drowns at sea

Former Turkish footballer and referee Hakan Ergin has drowned in the sea near Zonguldak at the age of 34, a tragic event in Turkish football.

The incident occurred at noon on the beach of Uzumkum. Local authorities had banned swimming in the sea due to strong waves. Despite warnings, Ergin entered the sea and soon disappeared from sight.

Rescuers arrived at the scene immediately after being informed of the incident. They pulled 34-year-old Hakan from the sea and handed him over to the emergency services on the beach. Ergin was taken to the Ataturk Hospital by ambulance, but despite all the efforts of the doctors, his life could not be saved.

According to reports, Hakan Ergin became a referee after ending his football career.

Earlier, it was reported that David Owouri, captain of Uganda's most successful club, Villa, was killed in an attack near his home in Kampala.
