53 percent of the education market in Uzbekistan is concentrated in Tashkent
In the first half of the year, Uzbeks' spending on educational services increased by 23 percent to nearly 24 trillion soums. Of this, 12.7 trillion soums, or 53 percent, falls on the capital alone.
More than half of the education market in Uzbekistan, or rather 53 percent, is located in the city of Tashkent.
In the period from January to June 2026, the volume of services provided in the field of education in Uzbekistan amounted to 23.8 trillion soums. This figure increased by 22.7 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
According to the National Statistics Committee, among educational services, higher education services have the largest share, accounting for 42.4 percent of total educational services.
The volume of educational services by region is as follows:
* Tashkent city - 12.7 trillion soums (53 percent of the market);
* Samarkand region - 1.5 trillion soums;
* Fergana region - 1.5 trillion soums;
* Andijan region - 1.2 trillion soums;
* Tashkent region – 1.1 trillion soums;
* Namangan region – 1.1 trillion soums;
* Bukhara region – 1 trillion soums;
* Kashkadarya region – 877.7 billion soums;
* Republic of Karakalpakstan – 691.3 billion soums;
* Khorezm region – 602.5 billion soums;
* Surkhandarya region – 577.8 billion soums;
* Navoi region – 373.6 billion soums;
* Jizzakh region – 323.9 billion soums;
* Syrdarya region – 243.6 billion soums.
