39,000 unemployed citizens will be provided with jobs in Khorezm by the end of the year

By the end of this year, it is planned to provide 39 thousand unemployed citizens with permanent jobs and lift 81 thousand people out of poverty in the Khorezm region. This was announced at a meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Over the past period of this year, the incomes of 162 thousand residents in the region have increased, 29 thousand people have been placed in permanent jobs, and the informal employment of 37 thousand citizens has been legalized.
In addition, more than 40 thousand services have been provided to 126.6 thousand residents from 28.9 thousand low-income families. As a result, the official income and financial situation of 127 thousand residents from 29 thousand families included in the "Social Register" have improved. The poverty rate in the region has decreased from 6.7 percent at the beginning of the year to 3.9 percent.
Currently, there are 39 thousand unemployed citizens and 102 thousand labor migrants in Khorezm. Despite the fact that there are more than 50 thousand vacancies in the region, some of them remain vacant due to the lack of personnel with the necessary qualifications.
Therefore, the task has been set to link the vocational training system with the needs of the labor market, strengthen practical training in secondary specialized and professional educational institutions. It is also planned to organize training courses aimed at developing students' professional and practical skills in universities.
A total of 6.4 trillion soums have been allocated to the region in order to reduce poverty and ensure employment. 1.5 trillion soums of loans have been allocated to projects in makhallas from the resources of commercial banks in the amount of 2.1 trillion soums.
By the end of the year, new jobs will be created through projects in the industry, services, tourism, transport, agriculture and construction sectors. It is planned to establish 250 new enterprises in micro-industrial centers, attract 15.8 thousand low-income families to 36 cooperatives, and implement 2.5 thousand micro-projects.
Also, 70 “locomotive” projects will be implemented in 12 base and 38 adjacent neighborhoods, creating 1.1 thousand jobs. It is planned to allocate 650 billion soums for entrepreneurial projects.
Proposals will also be developed to bring work on reducing poverty and unemployment to a new level in Khorezm. The President emphasized the need to reconsider the mechanisms for working with the needy population and take an individual approach to each person.
