28 documents signed at the end of the SCO summit in Bishkek

A total of 28 documents were signed at the end of the anniversary summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Bishkek. This was reported by the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan.

At the summit held in Bishkek on September 1, chaired by the Head of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, Japarov noted that the SCO member states account for more than 40 percent of the world's population and about a quarter of the world's gross domestic product.

Currently, the SCO includes ten countries: Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The summit was attended by leaders of all member states, who discussed the creation of new security centers, expanding cooperation in the fight against drugs, digitalization, ecology and logistics.

The main political document of the summit was the Bishkek Declaration dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the SCO. The heads of state also approved the Protocol on Amendments and Addenda to the SCO Charter of June 7, 2002.

Among the signed documents are:

* Regulations on the Universal Center for Combating Threats and Risks to the Security of the SCO States;

* Regulations on the Executive Committee of the Organization's Center for Combating Narcotics. It will include the Center for Combating Transnational Organized Crime, which will be opened in Bishkek;

* Two programs on the fight against drugs. One of them is designed until 2030 and is dedicated to combating drug addiction, and the second provides for the coordination of measures to combat the spread of synthetic drugs and their precursors until 2030;

* Cooperation Plan of the SCO States to Ensure International Information Security in 2026-2028;

* Action Plan for the Development of Ports and Logistics Centers of the SCO Countries in 2026–2030 and other documents.

During the summit, Kyrgyzstan handed over the chairmanship of the organization to Pakistan.
