25-year-old Portuguese footballer dies during friendly match

25-year-old Portuguese footballer Kevin de Castro died during a friendly match. This was reported by A Bola.

The incident occurred during a friendly match between Real Massama and Estrella. De Castro, who recently joined Real Massama, lost consciousness in the 10th minute of the match.

Doctors from both teams immediately provided first aid and used a defibrillator. However, it was not possible to save the footballer's life. He was taken to hospital, but doctors confirmed his death.

De Castro turned 25 on August 16.

Estrella club expressed its deepest condolences to the footballer's family and friends, as well as the management of Real Massama and all representatives of the club.

De Castro was born in Portugal but moved to England as a child, where he played for West Bromwich Albion, Burton Albion, Notts County and York City.
