Uzbekistan records over 34,000 escrow transactions in property and vehicle markets in July

Uzbekistan saw over 34,000 escrow transactions for property and vehicles in July 2026, with most activity centered on vehicle sales and the capital city, Tashkent.

During July, a total of 34,341 transactions were officially completed using escrow accounts. Vehicle transactions made up 18,306 of these deals, while real estate accounted for 16,035. Additionally, 1,096 transactions were still pending review at the close of the reporting period.

Tashkent led the nation in escrow-based transactions, finalizing 9,674 deals in July. The Fergana region followed with 3,401 transactions, and the Samarkand and Andijan regions recorded 2,810 and 2,567 deals, respectively.

These statistics highlight the ongoing adoption of escrow accounts for formalizing property and vehicle transactions throughout Uzbekistan.

Previously, Uzbekistan registered more than 60,780 real estate and vehicle transactions via escrow accounts in April and May 2026, demonstrating significant early adoption of the system.

The escrow system was implemented as part of a wider initiative to enhance transparency and promote cashless payments in property and vehicle transactions. Under this framework, service fees are capped at UZS 206,000 ($17.25) for real estate transactions and UZS 103,000 ($8.62) for vehicle transactions. If a transaction is canceled, all funds deposited into an escrow account must be fully reimbursed to the buyer.
