Uzbekistan and South Korea Conduct Consular Consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – According to the Dunyo Information Agency, which cited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the fourth series of consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea took place in Tashkent.

The Uzbek delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Olimjon Abdullayev, while the Republic of Korea's delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lim Sang Woo.

During their discussions, the two sides comprehensively examined the present status and future outlook for bilateral collaboration in consular matters, alongside topics related to organized labor migration.

Participants specifically focused on safeguarding the rights and lawful interests of citizens from both Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, enhancing cooperation between relevant authorities, and improving the speed at which consular and legal assistance is provided.

A distinct subject of discussion was cooperation concerning mobility and migration.

The parties explored possibilities for refining systems for organized and secure labor mobility, broadening legal avenues for migration, implementing collaborative initiatives to decrease illegal migration, and guaranteeing suitable living conditions and adherence to occupational safety standards for Uzbek citizens employed in the Republic of Korea.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an accord was reached to maintain consistent dialogue and practical engagement between the consular departments of the two nations, broaden the legal framework for cooperation, and increase the frequency of such consultations.
