Uzbekistan and JICA expand cooperation on the development of free economic zones

Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with a mission led by Sakai Mamoru, Head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Office in Uzbekistan.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with a delegation led by the head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office in Uzbekistan, Sakai Mamoru.

During the talks, the parties discussed a technical cooperation project aimed at developing free economic zones, attracting foreign direct investment and developing the country's industry.

The meeting reviewed the conclusions of the JICA diagnostic mission and the results of consultations with relevant ministries and departments, as well as directorates of free economic zones.

Finally, a protocol was signed defining the next stages of the project implementation.

This project is expected to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, develop industry and increase the country's investment attractiveness.
