Ahadbek Khaidarov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, met with Takashi Nagaoka, Director of the International Monetary Fund's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. The discussions focused on developing bilateral cooperation and the implementation of the JISPA specialist training program, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed potential areas of collaboration, including strengthening partnerships, building human resources capacity, and conducting joint analytical research.
Special attention was paid to the JISPA educational initiative, designed to enhance the skills of employees of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The meeting participants discussed the program's significance and its potential for developing highly qualified specialists.
It was emphasized that JISPA is a joint project of the Government of Japan and the International Monetary Fund. The program aims to train qualified personnel for the public sector in Asia and the Pacific in areas such as economic policy, macroeconomic analysis, public finance, and institutional management.
The program offers participants the opportunity to earn master's and doctoral degrees at leading Japanese universities in economics, macroeconomics, public policy, and public finance. The program meets international standards, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills in developing and implementing economic reforms.
Furthermore, the program facilitates the exchange of experience with international experts, academics, and public administration specialists, stimulating the development of analytical skills and strategic thinking.
Upon completion of their studies, the fellows are expected to continue their work at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, participating in economic policymaking, strengthening financial stability, and implementing reforms aimed at ensuring sustainable economic growth.
Following the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the IMF confirmed their mutual interest in further deepening cooperation and implementing joint initiatives.
